Pakistan vs South Africa T20 World Cup Highlights – 3rd Nov 2022

Babar Azam

Very happy the way team performed. We are not upto the mark – me and Rizwan. But the way Haris played – different player – set the momentum. And the way Shadab and Ifti finished the innings – outstanding. To be honest, everyone is my best player. Everyone is my match-winner. First two losses cost us. But the way we have played last two matches. As you know cricket is funny game.

Temba Bavuma

Quite disappointing the way we ended our bowling session. Getting them 5 down quickly and allowing them to get to a formidable score. Lots of questions we need to ask. Credit to them. We knew that weather was going to be a bit of an issue. I’m no bowler but the bowlers do practice for these conditions. Wicket was sliding on, slower balls weren’t gripping. We probably could’ve used the bigger side a bit more. Next game is obviously a big one for us against Netherlands in Adelaide.

Shadab Khan man of the Match

I have played (batted) like this in PSL, but this is a World Cup match, so it’s my best innings. The pitch was a bit slower compared to Perth. I tried to bowl at the stumps, and it paid off. I like to bat up the order, but it depends on the situation and what the team requires, so I am ready to bat anywhere.

Pakistan vs South Africa Cricket Highlights today. 36th Match, Group 2, Sydney Cricket Ground, Thursday 03-11-2022, ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022.

South Africa Captain

We would have batted first as well, looks a bit dry, but there is some green. Batting first is an advantage, but we need to keep them down to a low score and then chase well. We have a great bunch of guys and have derived a lot of support and confidence from them. Two changes for us – one is a forced one with Miller missing out with an injury, Klaasen replaces him. Shamsi is in, he replaces Keshav Maharaj.

Pakistan Captain

We will bat. Put runs on the board and then place them under pressure in the chase. We will try and give our best and then move forward. One change for us – Fakhar misses out, Haris is in.

Pitch Report and Condition

This match will be played on the same pitch as the Sri Lanka-New Zealand game, where Trent Boult took a career-best 4 for 13. There’s expected to be something in it for the quicks but also plenty of opportunities to score big. Sydney is the only venue at the tournament where teams have breached 200.
